13 Gypsies Peasant Kitchen - First Look

We did happen to make it up to 13 Gypsies (887 Stockton St.) last night to grab some take-out sandwiches and we've got great things to say about the experience.

The eatery is located at the corner of College and Stockton Streets where Pops Diner used to be. The interior is very quaint and houses 5 tables. It was 6PM when we arrived and the place had only been open for 1 hour...there was only 1 empty table. Good sign. Here are a few interior shots (click on the thumbnails for larger pictures).

Jason and Amber each had the Double Cow - Angus Roast Beef, Caramelized Onions, Fontina Chesse, Peasant Bread. Pressed.

The sandwich was pretty darn good. The Caramelized Onions were especially tasty as was the Fontina cheese. The Peasant Bread was awesome. Maybe one change would be to put some greens or veggies on it, Amber even suggested some roasted peppers, but again...the sandwich was really good.

Joe(y) had the Turkey and Basil - Smoked Turkey Breast, Basil Mayo (YUM), Swiss Cheese, Mixed Greens, Flatbread. Cold.

Also a really good sandwich with the perfect hint of Basil in the mayo.

The sandwiches were a mere $8 and $7 respectively, huge, and sure to fill up even the largest stomach. They also come with a side mixed green salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

We will definitely be back very soon to try some of the other Menu items. Also, they do have a Website that has more information.

As predicted 13 Gypsies has started taking reservations. We tried to check it out last night and were told they were booked solid.
I'm happy they are doing well so quickly!
