Another Way To Die - Official Music Video
The official video for the new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace, "Another Way To Die" by Jack White and Alicia Keys, was released today. Here it is.
Lets Just Elect An A-rab
This is how people in Kentucky feel about Barack Hussein Obama. Watch as these drunk hillbillies get all political on us and spew their views on our potential next President. Be warned though, there are a few "N" bombs towards the end and a few conspiracy theories thrown around and a ton of ignorance.
Its All Happening at the Jacksonville Zoo
This is such a cute video of the Jacksonville Zoo from the Geeks on Tour that we thought we should share it with you guys. It also reminds us that we need to take a Jacksonville Confidential field trip out to the zoo, its been way too long. Maybe this Friday for Brew at the Zoo - Definitely sounds like our kind of party. Tickets for the event are $30 for members and $40 for non-members in advance or $50 at the door. Now in its 2nd year, Brew at the Zoo is hosted by the new young professionals group, the Wild Things, and directly benefits the Zoo. This event will be filled with up-close animals connections, music, area restaurant signature dishes and adult libations.

The Corpus Clock & Chronophage
This is pretty amazing, and no surprise since it was created by Stephen Hawking. From YouTube..."Renowned scientist Stephen Hawking is going to unveil a remarkable clock that has no hands and shows time with the help of light.
Known as the Corpus Clock, the machine has been invented by and designed by Dr John Taylor for Corpus Christi College Cambridge for the exterior of the college's new library building.
The Clock will be unveiled on 19th September by Stephen Hawking, cosmologist and author of the global bestseller, A Brief History of Time.
Dr Taylor, an inventor and horologist, has put 500,000 pounds of his own money and seven years into developing the clock, which has been inspired from a design by a clock made by the legendary John Harrison, the pioneer of longitude.
Of John Harrison's many innovations, he came up with the 'grasshopper escapement, explained Dr Taylor, referring to the device used by Harrison to turn rotational motion into a pendulum motion for timekeeping.
No one knows how a grasshopper escapement works, so I decided to turn the clock inside out and, instead of making the escapement 35 mm across, it is 1.5 m across, he said.
He calls the new version of the escapement a Chronophage (time-eater) a fearsome beast which drives the clock, literally eating away time."
Thanks to MetroJacksonville for posting the link to the video.
Got To Be Startin' Somethin'
Its looks like we've started a trend with this tonguing your dog phenomenon that we reported on yesterday. Here's singer Aubrey O'Day from the group Danity Kane going at it with her pooch. That's just nasty!

Banned Books Week
This week, September 27th through October 4th, is Banned Books Week which and there are lots of ways to get involved and voice your opinion about such freedoms. The number one way is to go out and get yourself a copy of one of the books on the list of The 10 Most Frequently Challenged Books and Authors of 2007 from the American Library Association and read it, ingest it, savor it. There are also MySpace and FaceBook pages and if you think you're smart enough to make a perfect score on a quiz about banned books, then Click Here."...celebrates the freedom to choose or the freedom to express one’s opinion even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular and stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of those unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints to all who wish to read them. After all, intellectual freedom can exist only where these two essential conditions are met...."

Time After Time
Henry Earl has been arrested 1,332 times in some small Kentucky town, rivaling our very own Shirley Green who has been arrested well over 100 times (we suspect). Anyway, someone pulled together all of Henry's mugshots from over the years and created this montage of all of the photos. Check it...
BUSTED
A local Riverside resident was caught in a rather precocious moment with his pets yesterday afternoon when a JEA spokesperson entered his home to check on some water main problems. Apparently the man was busted in a deep lip-lock (with tongue) with one of his Boston Terriers that was disguised as a Dachshund. The JEA employee contacted authorities who were unable to find any illegalities with the situation and left the mans home....laughing.

Okay, okay...so this didn't really happen, we just wanted to post this disturbingly hilarious picture. Please don't kill us Mark.
Diesel XXX
The Diesel clothing line will be celebrating its XXX (30th) Birthday on October 11th and to advertise the event they have put together (in conjunction with SFW) the most awesomely safe for work porno EVER! Just watch....
Spotted
Jacksonville Confidential reader Clinton spotted our old friend Shirley Green WAYYYY out on the Southside at the corner of Old Baymeadows Road and Southside Boulevard yesterday afternoon and was gracious enough to send us the pics. As you can see, Shirley is sporting that fabulous little red purse that we spotted her with a week or so ago. Shes also got a pen dangling from her collar, maybe she's started doing pan-handling speculations....very professional!

Thanks again to Clinton for sending these awesome snapshots to us and we encourage all of you to send your photos to us if you spot something around town that you think is news or gossip worthy, or just plain funny.

FSU - Total Class
Jacksonville sure does love some football and yesterday was certainly no exception when the Florida State Seminoles were victorious with a 39-21 win against the Colorado Buffaloes. Staff member Robyn was in attendance at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and she definitely captured the photo of the week!

Very classy lady. We are really really hoping that she was in town from Tallahassee for the game and not a local resident. If anyone recognizes this public urinator PLEASE send us an e-mail. We would like to present her with an award.

How to Make Lumpia
Watch as local cook Clyde instructs on how to make Lumpia. If you don't know what a Lumpia is, here's a short description from Wikipedia: If you've never eaten a Lumpia you are really missing out. We have a habit of asking every Philippine that we know if they have any on hand, as if. Good job Clyde.Lumpia are pastries of the Philippines and Indonesia of Chinese origin and are similar to spring rolls......The recipe, both fried and fresh versions, was brought by the Chinese immigrants from the Fujian province of China to Southeast Asia and became popular where they settled in the Philippines and Indonesia. In the Netherlands, it is spelled loempia which is the old Indonesian spelling for lumpia and has also become the generic name for "spring roll" in Dutch. A variant is the Vietnamese lumpia, wrapped in a thinner piece of pastry, in a size close to a spring roll though the wrapping closes the ends off completely, which is typical for lumpia.
Go Gators
Good luck to the Florida Gators who take on Ole Miss tomorrow in The Swamp. From Jacksonville Confidential and the tranny below, who was spotted at the corner of Park and Post Streets donning his/her Gator gear. GO GATORS!

Clay Aiken on GMA
Just out of the closet Clay Aiken was on Good Morning America today talking about his recent announcement to the world that he is, in fact, a raging homosexual. This may be the first interview with Clay that we actually "enjoyed" because it's also the first interview where he was completely honest. Certainly there has been a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders and maybe we don't dislike him as much now. Take a look.
Behind The Scenes - Not Like You
Here's some behind the scenes footage of a local music video being filmed at Regency Square Mall for Selena Monat J's release "Not Like You". "Watch out BET!".

Now you can have a Presidential Debate whenever and wherever you want with Origami Candidates from foldUScandidate. Just print, cut, and fold for your very own John & Cindy McCain or Barack & Michelle Obama, there's even a Hillary Clinton. Crafty.

Man on Wire
Man on Wire is a documentary about French high-wire artist Philippe Petit, whose dream it was to walk on a wire strung between the Twin Towers. It was on his wish list for about six-and-a-half years before his team actually planned out how they would illegally gain access to the roof of the towers and then rig the wire. It took eight months to map it out, but on August 7, 1974, they prevailed: Petit walked, danced, and even lay down on a wire suspended 1,350 feet in the air. He did not alert the press. He did not have a two-hour primetime special. Doctors weren’t there checking his vital signs, advising him that this could be the ultimate Dive of Death. He just did it -- a true stunt. Here's a trailer for the film.

Rocket 69
We had the extreme pleasure of talking to and riding around with local childrens' book author R.C. Bubblegum who is promoting his new book Rocket 69.

Originally written for the authors two children during a tumultuous time in their lives (divorce, new house, etc), the book is a story within a story as a father, bringing up his two children Joey and Luna, uses his bedtime tales to bolster confidence in his kids when they are feeling down. The basic moral of the story is to follow your dreams and to have faith no matter what is going on in the environment around you.
In addition to the book, R.C. Bubblegum has also modified a 1972 Jaguar XJ12 four-door sedan into a door-less Rocket 69, with a state-of-the-art sound system. When coupled with the V12 engine, the sound system creates the illusion of an actual rocket launch. Here are some pics of the awesome machine -

If you are interested in buying a copy of Rocket 69 just shoot us an email, for the time being, and we will get you in touch with the proper people. Thanks a bunch to R.C. Bubblegum for the wonderful chat and awesome ride.

Click Here to watch, download, or purchase (yeah, right) the new movie."This is being done entirely as a gift to my fans. The only return any of us are hoping for is the largest turnout of young voters ever at the polls in November." - Michael Moore

Separated at Birth
The following Separated at Birth featuring Carly and Demi Moore was submitted to us anonymously.

ArtWalk Warning
The Urban Core has a warning for next months upcoming ArtWalk that we all need to read and heed. Apparently the ATF has warned event hotspots Chew, Burrito Gallery, and MOCA to not allow patrons to leave the premises with alcohol, or suffer the consequences (being shut down). However, people CAN walk around with libations. This doesn't really make a lot of sense... Click Here for more from The Urban Core.

O'Brothers Irish Pub
Some of you may have heard about a new Irish Pub going in at 5-Points. Well it is official. Brothers Drew and Curt Cavins are opening O'Brothers Irish Pub. These Patron Packs will be sold for $350 and will include $600 worth of gift certificates, a custom T-shirt, and an invitation to the pre-opening dry runs and opening party. Black Kids - Pics

As you know, we checked out Black Kids this past Friday at Freebird Live with opening act The Virgins (who were pretty darn good). This was our first time hearing them (The Virgins) and we were rather impressed.

After a rather lengthy, hot, sweaty, loud, and crowded intermission, Black Kids arrived on stage around 11:30PM and immediately started to rock the crowd, hard. They played a fairly short set, at just under an hour, that consisted, mostly, of new stuff but they did make sure to bring back a few of the old haunts that we're used to, saving Hurricane Jane for the encore.
Overall it was good show, we still think it was a bit too crowded and hot, but the band played on and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.

WTF?
Okay, we sorta like Josh Grobin USUALLY, but WTF was this TV Show Theme Montage from last nights 60th Annual Emmy Awards? Seriously.
Beach Bums
A few of us were at the beach this past Friday night to see Black Kids at Freebird Live and as we were waiting we got to see the best opening act of all; two beach bums (literally), totally effed up, dancing in the middle of the street. Everyone inside Stefanos Pizza across from Freebird enjoyed this awesome performance. Thanks to iMovie, we've added a little background music for effect.
Batman - The Brave and the Bold
The Cartoon Network will be debuting Batman - The Brave and the Bold on November 18th and we are pretty excited. You see, this new installment brings back the old 1960's style Batman with a simple and clean animation style. We've grown tired of all the anime clones that have been so popular as of late. A slew of other DC Comics Heroes and Villains are expected to appear on the show as well. The Villains - Black Manta, Calendar Man, Cavalier, Clock King, Gentleman Ghost, Gorilla Grodd, Kite Man, Kanjar Ro, Ocean Master, and Zebra-Man. Here's a little promo video from Cartoon Network. The Heroes - Adam Strange, Aquaman, The Atom, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Deadman, Doctor Fate, Fire, Firestorm, Flash, Green Arrow, The Green Lantern Corps, Guy Gardner, Justice Society of America, Jonah Hex, Kamandi, Huntress, Metamorpho, Red Tornado, Plastic Man, and Wildcat.
Heroes - TONIGHT!!!
Finally, after a 9 month hiatus, Heroes is back TONIGHT with Season 3:Villains. Starting at 8PM on NBC12 there will be a one hour count-down to the premier with behind-the-scenes action and some recap leading up to the first "Villains" episode at 9PM followed by a bonus episode at 10PM. We think this is going to be the best season yet. Check out this promo clip and tune in for the multi-hour premier event.

Wow! These peeps really know how to break it down. See, church can be fun(ny). A "Renewed Mind" is the key to the power that we need!
Colonial New Jersey
You guys probably know that we love to make fun of those Jersey Douche-Bags, but did any of you ever wonder where these people came from? The history of the Jersey douche-bag? If so, check out this "Colonial New Jersey" video to understand their origins.
Turf Wars
We've noticed recently that our beloved Shirley Green/Jacksonville Sasquatch has been missing from her usual posts either at the corner of Park and Forest Streets or at the base of the Fuller Warren Bridge at Park Street. We did spot this new vagrant at the Park and Forest and had assumed that there was a turf war of some kind...

so we placed an inquiry into her whereabouts with some of our insiders Downtown. Well, looks like Shirley was picked up by JSO on September 3rd at the base of the Fuller Warren for "Breach of Peace" which is sometimes used to pick up panhandlers. As far as we know Ms. Green is still in lock-up. We'll let you know once we see her back in the midst of society. In the meantime, check out her spanking new photos c/o JSO.
