We just got back from one of the most awesome lunches ever and we felt the need to tell you guys about this little hidden gem ASAP. There's this little enclave inside the World Food Market, at 5161 Beach Boulevard near the Hart Expressway overpass at Beach, that has about 5 tables and a long bar with chairs and two Asian ladies slinging some of the best Korean Barbecue and noodles in town. The World Food Market is basically an Asian Market with a few Spanish items thrown in. It looks and smells like most Asian Markets, if you've ever happened in to one you know what we mean. The grocer carries all sorts of deliciously weird items; dried sea creatures, jars of gelatinous eyeballs peering at you from behind glass, and other odds and ends.

Jason had the Spicy Seafood Noodles (Japanese Udon noodles) that had plenty of Kimchee spice and huge pieces of octopus. It was phenomenal and only $5.99, do you see how big that bowl of noodles is?

Mark had the traditional Japanese Noodles (Japanese Udon Noodles) with seaweed, fish cakes, and veggies for the same price. It was equally fantastic.

They also served us a side of Kimchee and Oshinko.

If you're up for a truly other-worldly fantastic experience, we strongly recommend checking out The Noodle Bar at World Food Market, there's really nothing else like it (that we know of) in Jacksonville.
We would also like to thank these two awesome cooks for a wonderful meal...

I am so excited!!! I love Korean Barbeque, but I find the one on University a bit pricey. I will definetly check this place out! Thanks!
I still say its a noodle bar, its really nothing like the one on University.
what are the hours of the restaurant?????
Dinner hours? How late? Take Out? can you scan and post any Menu? Thanks Jax Con!Love you!
We're gonna have to go back for more info cause we were so not wanted. But will be back real soon and real frequent(ly). I totally think we stumbled upon a goldmine. SERIOUSLY! I was the ONLY non-Asian in the entire place, thankfully Twan (Mark - The News Room Chief) is half Japanese to buffer the awkwardness.
Those are the most delicious looking food photos you've ever posted here. I can't wait to try this place out. We need more 'off the radar' type places like this!
I love asian markets and have been there many times before. I have not been there in quite a few months and this must be a fairly recent addition. I work nearby and will check it out soon!
Hours are 10-8 seven days a week! WOO HOO
OMG!!! Thank you for posting this...I usually go to Saigon Time on Cassat, but can't wait to grab a couple of friends and try this place out.
No lie, we went back for a third time in the past week today. Ive now had half the menu and its all been fantastic. My favorite is the Spicy Seafood Noodles that are mentioned in this blog. Ive taken more food pics and will post sometime this week.

The REAL phone number is 904-398-5988
They have the wrong one when you look it up in the yellow pages and on the Web.
I love this place! If you shop right you can get lots of food so much cheaper!
Duly noted, do the speak English on the phone?
I have been shopping at this market once or twice a month for several years. My girlfriend is Korean and she introduced me to it. We watched them add equipment and build it out slowly. So we were really excited when the restaurant opened and immediatley tried it out. We ordered bulgogi, which is a pretty standard Korean beef dish. And it was AWFUL. The meat was clearly old and stale and barely marinated. It actually tasted as if they cooked it that morning and it say out all day and they just reheated it and handed it over to us. We still shop there, but our high hopes for the restaurant were totally shot. We have also stopped purchasing Kimchi there as the last 2 batches we have picked up have also been terrible. I figured whoever was running the restaurant must also be making the Kimchi now and assumed they were retarded. Maybe this was all a fluke? Maybe we should give it another chance and try a noodle dish. But the bulgogi was so bad we had no intentions of trying anything else.
